    Amazing experience!
I (23, F) attended Lyon Bleu for 8 weeks beginning in September 2015 and it was fantastic. This was my first experience in a French language school and I would definitely go back. I spent 7 weeks in B2 level before finishing up in C1. The staff were amazing and I really enjoyed my package (semi-intensive 1) which included private lessons in addition to the normal class and daily workshops. I particularly enjoyed the B2 classes as they were very well structured and I could clearly identify and reflect on what I had learnt each day. I opted for a homestay (breakfast and dinner included - organised through Lyon Bleu) and was paired with a lovely family. I found that sharing meals with my family was very beneficial as it allowed for additional language practice. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend a homestay. My host family was located about a 45 minute walk from Lyon Bleu, however it was only about 10 minutes on the metro or a pleasant walk along the Rhone. There were also a variety of cultural activities offered by Lyon Bleu, including a weekly introductory tour of Lyon (for new students), a weekly tour of Lyon's major attractions (different location each week), wine, champagne and olive oil tasting (alternating between weeks) and one-off activities such as ten-pin bowling and a Saturday visit to the Beaujolais wine region. There was also a weekly screening of a French film at Lyon Bleu where there was also a mini library. There were quite a few young South American students, however there was still a wide range of ages and nationalities in my classes and I did not find this to be a problem. Only downside was the toilet facilities at Lyon Bleu. They were clean and well maintained but there was always a large queue at break times with 3 toilets for 40+ people. But overall, an amazing experience and Lyon is such a beautiful city!

    Positive Learning Experience
I attended Lyon Bleu for two weeks in the summer of 2012 entering at the C2 level. Instruction was excellent and the school very well run. It is located in a lovely area of this marvelous city. We rented an apartment through an agency and it was about a 15 minute walk from the school. Negative in the program is that there was at least at that time a very large number of young students from South America doing a sort of gap year-6 months of language study before university. So, the mix of students was not what I had experienced in the other 4 schools I have attended and made in difficult to find compatible people to socialize with after hours. I am in my 60's. There was a minimum of activities organized by the school. But, overall, it was a good experience and the city is magnificent.
