GADIR, More than a school… a family

GADIR, Escuela Internacional de Español was founded in Cádiz in 1989 and is an average-sized school, where all the pupils, teachers and organisers know each other from the very first day. Our main aim is to ensure that your time with us enables you to speak, think and feel in Spanish.

The quality of the GADIR courses is guaranteed by the most prestigious Institutions such as Instituto Cervantes, CSN, Bildungsurlaub and FEDELE. GADIR is situated in an independent building in the district of the Bahía Blanca, only a few minutes away from the historic city centre and the beach. Our school has seven teaching rooms, a lounge, a library, a video library, a garden and a patio, all for the use of our students.

In GADIR and Cádiz you can learn Spanish and enjoy a pleasant stay, strolling through its streets, discovering its squares and beaches. It is difficult to describe in a nutshell all that the city of Cádiz has to offer those coming to discover it; there are so many things worth mentioning… Its history, its art, its location, its climate, its beaches, its inhabitants, its fiestas…Come and see for yourself!

Why Gadir?

GADIR was established in 1989. It is a family-run school with a reputation for high quality. We have many years of experience in providing the right course and level for each individual student.

We are members of “Español en Andalucía”, “FEDELE” and “Instituto Cervantes Accredited Center” which guarantee that you have chosen an excellent school.

Cádiz appears as one of the most complete and interesting destinations to make a trip different, beyond the tourism of masses. This means there are fewer international people in the city and there are more opportunities for you to meet Spanish people. It also means it is easier for us to find quality homestay accommodation.

We have an excellent nationality mix with students from over 25 different countries throughout the year.

In GADIR, each student is treated as an individual and we put you at the centre of our thinking. We want you to get the most out of your experience in Spain and we will do everything we can to make sure that happens.

We offer excellent student support services and have professional, caring and friendly teachers and staff.

We guarantee a quality homestay experience with friendly andalusian hospitality. Our Student Services team will ensure that you are well-looked after throughout your time at the school.

The relatively low cost of living and the high quality of life in Cádiz are also excellent reasons for choosing to study at GADIR, Spanish School in Cádiz.

Our Team

Our teaching method which is continuously reviewed and updated, together with our team of teachers, will help you to “sail” through the Spanish language with as much ease as you would through Internet.

All of our teachers hold a degree in Spanish linguistics and literature, specialising in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

We love to work with people from different countries and bring them closer to our language and culture. And this is reflected in our school and our courses. The most important thing for us is a good working atmosphere, since the learning progress is much more effective if you learn whilst having fun.

If you want to know how Spanish people live, if you want to learn Spanish and have fun, if you are looking for a school with a wide variety of courses and excellent academic level and located in one of the most beautiful cities of Spain…

If you really want to SPEAK SPANISH… Come and meet us!

Hundreds of students study Spanish at GADIR every year. They come from all over the world – mainly from Europe – and they are from all sorts of different backgrounds. Some are students, others are professional people who need Spanish at work, some have come to Cádiz to live here and others are retired and like to study Spanish as their new hobby.

GADIR is situated in an independent building in the district of the Bahía Blanca, only a few minutes away from the historic city centre and the beach. Our school has seven teaching rooms, a lounge, a library, a video library, a garden and a patio, all for the use of our students.

We believe it is essential that our pupils get to know the city they are studying in and for this reason we organise regular guided tours to the historic city centre, museums, churches and other places of interest. Cádiz, with a population of 140000, is a city with a very active and appealing cultural life – flamenco dancing and singing, theatre festivals, cinema, folklore and opera and theatre seasons.

All such activities are accessible to our pupils who are promptly informed of the events which take place in Cádiz so that they can take part in them. Every week we organise various extra curricular activities, like visiting the most important places in Cadiz, the cathedral, Tavira tower, la Caleta etc. Also we go out for meals together and enjoy the delicious gastronomy of Cadiz, which is  a compilation of Andalusia’s most appetising dishes. The produce of the mountains and the sea, accompanied by outstanding wines, will transform any visit into a delicious experience.

    How to get there

There are two international airports located close to Cadiz: Jerez ( Airport Code XRY) and Seville (Airport Code SVQ). Both airports have several daily connecting flights to the rest of Spain and Europe. Following you will find a table detailing the most convenient ways to get to Cadiz. If you need any help simply contact us and we can aid you in the best way to arrive to Cadiz. Remember that you can request a school door-to-door pickup service from Seville and Jerez.

Arriving at Jerez (XRY) Airport or Seville (SVQ) Airport

There is information below on how to get from the airport to your accommodation you can either organize a transfer with us or make your own way to your accommodation.

Option 1: Airport transfers arrange by us

We are very happy to arrange for you to be collected at your arrival airport, and to be taken directly to your accommodation. This is a simple and trouble-free way to start to your course.

Your driver will meet you as soon as you have passed through Customs.

The driver will be holding up a sign that reads “spanish in Cadiz“

All you need to do is to request this service and to make sure that you tell us your arrival details (date, time, flight number, arrival airport and departure airport). Please contact us for transfer rates.

Option 2: Making your own way

Although we are very happy to arrange an airport pickup it is not essential. Taxis are easy to get at Jerez or Seville airport and actually cost less than a pickup service (IF COMBINING TAXI & TRAIN IN THE WHOLE EQUATION).

We do not recommend taking a taxi from the airports all the way to Cadiz since they are some distance and are expensive, but it is perfectly easy to take a combination of train and taxi.

      Avoid at all cost
Ignorant management and nightmare accommodation. I got blocked from their Facebook page for leaving a negative review. I was accused of never studying at their school. Unfortunately, I have and it couldn't have been worse.
