About FIL – Français Immersion Loisirs

** THE FIL CONCEPT **
FIL French immersion summer camp organises French language holidays in south of France for teenagers -from 12-17 years old- coming from around the world. Our 10-DAY SUMMER CAMP programmes combine French language workshops (21hours) with a wide range of recreational activities, including canyoning, kayaking, stand-up paddle, swimming, cabaret nights and cultural excursions. We also welcome French campers in order to motivate students to speak in French. FIL is a unique language camp experience!

** LOCATION OF FIL **
FIL French summer courses take place IN SOUTH OF FRANCE in Saint Laurent de Cerdans, a charming village between the Pyrenees Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. It is situated 60km south of Perpignan, in the Languedoc Roussillon region, close to the Spanish border. Participants can fly into Perpignan (1hour30) and Barcelona (2hour30) airports or travel by train to Perpignan.

** GROUPS OF PARTICIPANTS AT FIL **
Our groups are divided according to age: - THE « FIL JUNIOR » : from 12 to 14 years old - THE « FIL ADO » : from 15 to 17 years old
At FIL summer camp, there are small groups of 20 pax with a minimum of 2 young French people. The native French team leaders will accompany the teenagers during their stay - 24/7 supervision of the group. They are double qualified in teaching French as a second language and in supervising young people in summer camps.
** FIL FRENCH CLASSES **
The COMMUNICATIVE AND ORIGINAL FRENCH WORKSHOPS - 21 HOURS DURING 10 DAYS STAY - follow a unique concept of French speaking teaching. FIL courses take place in the mornings in small groups of 6 to 8 participants and according to the level of everyone. French classes include role-playing games, setting fictive project, field interaction with French local people, etc. At FIL, you speak French without noticing it!

** FIL METHOD **
The priority of FIL summer programs is TO DEVELOP ORAL EXPRESSION THROUGH DAILY FRENCH PRACTICE. We encourage our participants to speak French all day long, in addition to their French language classes - this is called "immersion totale". A stay at FIL is made to live holidays in French, thus, the children enjoy their time and because they feel good, it’s easier and more natural to speak French: learning with emotional wellness is better to perform languages (that's FIL's educational value).

** WHY CHOOSING FIL? **
- A family atmosphere in a safe exceptional nature-surrounded place

- The constant presence of the FIL team with the group

- Original French workshops taking place outdoors

- An individual following-up of each participant

- Amazing activities including water sports, hiking in the Pyrenees Mountains and 2 days at the Mediterranean coast

- An international group including French young people from the same age.

    Exhilarated and speaking French
My daughter has attended FIL for three years so far, she really loves this adventure-activity holiday, has made great friends and makes great leaps forward in her French in each sejour. FIL uses total immersion and modern teaching methods that make language-learning about communicating and having fun. This is what makes it so effective. Language teaching of this quality is very hard to find. I wholeheartedly recommend FIL, your kid is sure to come home exhausted and happy and wanting to speak French.
