Where is Boston?
Boston is situated in the state of Massachusetts, and is the capital and largest city of the state. Massachusetts is in the north east of the USA and has a coast on the Atlantic Ocean plus borders with the states of Rhode Island, New York, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Vermont. As well as being Massachusetts largest city, it is the largest in New England and 21st largest in the country.

You may come to learn English in Boston, but if you visit all of the city’s museums you will go home being the fountain of all knowledge! There are so many great museums here that these will certainly keep language travel students busy.
Boston also has some wonderful old architecture to enjoy too, as after all this is one of the oldest cities in the USA. Popular attractions include the Old State House and the neighbourhoods of Brownstone Victorian houses. The New England Aquarium is also popular and visiting the famous Harvard and MIT educational institutions nearby is popular too.

People have come here from all over the world, but Boston is most famous for its huge Irish population, said to be the highest in the world outside of Ireland! With such a large Irish population, St Patrick’s Day is always a good excuse to party! There is a large St Patrick’s Day Parade, but the Fourth of July (Independence Day) celebrations are even bigger here. Language travel students may enjoy trying out all the different beers available in the pubs and bars here. Samuel Adams brewery is based in Boston, and the ‘Cheers’ bar and restaurants is very popular too!

Boston, and New England as a whole, is famous around the world for the beautiful colours that the trees turn in the autumn and you don’t have to stray far from your English school in Boston to find evidence of this!
