About A DOOR TO ITALY – SCUOLA DI ITALIANO

The Italian Language School for Foreigners A DOOR TO ITALY, established in 2002, is the first institution teaching Italian as a foreign language in Genoa, close to Portofino and Cinque Terre. All the language courses are offered all year round in our premises in the heart of the town in an elegant and fascinating 19th century building with large and sunny classrooms, a balcony, a lounge area with coffee corner and snacks, free internet points, WiFi connection and a welcome information point to discover planned cultural and leisure activities. For our students we offer a wide range of housing options from basic accommodation up to high level solutions, to guarantee our students a pleasant stay. Our students come to A Door to Italy from all over the world to study Italian for different purposes: for passion, to find out about their origin, to learn a beautiful language and to know the local culture, for business, for study. All this variety is an enriching experience for everyone of us and for the students themselves. They all come for a full immersion Italian language experience. Different cultures and backgrounds at schools encourage cross-cultural exchanges and help a fast learning process. Students' age range is from 16 to 100 years, so we do welcome young students, university students, such as professionals or retired people. All our teachers are young, natives, highly qualified and with wide experience in teaching Italian to foreigners. They regularly follow practical training and refresher courses. Apart from being able to share their knowledge and practical skills, they create a friendly atmosphere in a group, which contributes to a fast and efficient acquisition of the Italian language. Their goal is to guide students in the learning of the language, developing the communicative abilities, though with care and consideration of grammatical structures. At A Door to Italy the student finds the necessary help and assistance to face all kind of problems related to the study of the Italian language.
