by Watt B. I studied at Dar Loughat for almost 5 months while I did field research for my senior thesis. I found their courses to be a perfect mix of language and cultural studies, especially my Darija classes. The teachers are incredible. They make Arabic extremely accessible for beginners and the small class size gives each student lots of face time with instructors. My teachers also knew so much about their city and its fascinating history that I often left class having learned just as much about Moroccan culture as Arabic. I was doing field research for my senior thesis and I found the school to be incredibly supportive of their students and their independent projects. They helped me find an apartment, they hooked me up with contacts to interview, they invited everyone over to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr, and hosted couscous lunches on Fridays. I would recommend Dar Loughat to anyone considering studying Arabic abroad. The north of Morocco is fascinating and the personal attention you receive as a student at Dar Loughat is unparelleled.Tuesday, 24 August 2010 0 people like this.
