CILFA (Centre International de Langue Française d’Annecy) has been affiliated with the Université Savoie Mont Blanc since 1999. Situated at the foot of the French Alps and near the charming Lake of Annecy, CILFA’s idyllic location provides a wonderful setting to learn French as a foreign language, whether you are just beginning or have previous experience.
As CILFA is not an overwhelmingly large school, students benefit from small classes with a maximum of 12 students. The intimate size allows for personalized attention and enables our teachers to help students reach their goals.
CILFA is also an examination center for the DILF, DELF and DALF diplomas. It gives students the opportunity to sit such exams several
times a year and to attend training courses.
In addition, educational activities are provided to further enhance the students’ experiences and allow them to practice French in a non-classroom setting.
Our courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (levels A1, A2, B1, and B2) and are available year round. Courses cover an 11 week enrollment session (3-4 weeks in the summer) although students may enroll for shorter periods (except beginners).
Furthermore, every July during the first two weeks, CILFA welcomes French teachers from around the world for an intensive training program. It is a good way to develop contact with the language and culture of France. You will follow language courses and workshops. Also outside activities can be part of your program.
To better enhance students' command of the French language, activities are offered which emphasize education outside the classroom. Students have the opportunity to partake in as many as 2 hours of educational activities per week (5 hours in the summer) which may include:
- Cooking demonstrations, guided tours of historic cities and castles, wine & cheese tastings, etc.
