About Bay Language Institute

Bay Language Institute is situated on the shores of the Indian Ocean in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Our small classes, warm and welcoming environment, and experienced, caring teachers ensure that you derive maximum benefit from your learning experience. While our focus is on improving your English, there is plenty to see and do in South Africa's Adventure Province, and we're always happy to advise you on what to do in and around our destination.

bli is accredited to offer English Language Proficiency assessments for pilots and other aviation professionals by the South African Civil Aviation Authority.

Facilities

    6 classrooms, a lounge, lending library with graded readers, kitchen, free wifi, free tea, coffee and filtered water, a garden with big shade tree and swings, barbecue area and the beach just 120 metres away.

    LEISURE

    Beaches, surfing, diving (SCUBA), snorkelling, sandboarding, hiking, sandboarding, marine excursions (boat-based), city tours, township tours, excursions to see the Big Five at the malaria-free Addo  Elephant National Park as well as other private wildlife reserves, weekend trips to the Garden Route and Tsitsikamma, the Karoo and the Sunshine and Wild Coast areas.
    Visa Information
    Students from many countries do not need visas to visit SA for up to 90 days, as they qualify for a "port-of-entry" visa; students on this visa may study short courses, including language studies. For students from other countries,  a vacation visa is suitable for stays of up to 90 days, while students wishing to study for longer may apply for a study visa.

    How to get there

    Flights from most countries to South Africa are readily available with major airlines. Students will need to book an additional flight from Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban to Port Elizabeth, but this is usually a part of your complete flight booking.
