Language School description
Tours Langues is a small and friendly French school located in Tours (one hour from Paris by train), a very pleasant historical city. Our groups are limited to 8 students which enables us to offer an individual monitoring; our teachers are native speakers, fully qualified, experienced and trained.
We offer our students a free access to the Internet and free transportation to the excursions we organize every Friday afternoon. It’s the best way to learn French as well as French culture. We also give one to one lessons.
Tours Langues, created in 1994, is located place Plumereau, in the city centre, close to the shops, railway and coach stations. It is in the historical and tourist district of the city. Place Plumereau is the favourite meeting place for students and Tourangeaux - the city inhabitants. You will find there many restaurants and outdoor cafés to have a little rest and to speak French.
Tours Langues pays particular attention to students. To enhance the chance of success and progress, the classes consist of a maximum of 8 people (10 people from June to September). Our teachers are specialised in teaching French as a foreign language. Whatever your age, your level of French or your aims, we provide a wide range and variety of lessons. We offer a balance between grammar, writing and oral expression, with the assistance of various technological aids (video- computers- television). These can be adapted to the specific needs of each individual.

- Situated in the very heart of the Old Town, the school is in close proximity to the Loire and many shops and facilities.
- As the art of good living is of prime importance in our region you will find many excellent restaurants, bars and of course fine cafes and patisseries. Also within walking distance there are unique shops offering everything from exquisite local wines to rare books with everything in between. And “Tours” is just one hour from Paris by TGV.
- We carefully arrange for you accommodation in host family, hotels, studios or youth hostel.
- We are central exam place for TEF by CCIP (Paris Chamber of Commerce) and for TCF by CIEP. Students of Tours Langues and other ones can take them once every month at Tours Langues. And this will allow them to leave with an official and international qualification.We also prepare you for DELF and DALF.
- We offer ideal learning conditions: the small group allows students to participate actively and receive more individual support. The content of the lessons is based on authentic documents and the use of information technology.
- Every Friday afternoon, we organize many cultural and sports activities with teachers, including visits to the castles of the Loire Valley, wine cellars, museums, nearby villages as well as tasting of the local products. We also organize cooking lessons with a chef twice a month.
- We give all necessary information for the students who will discover our region by themselves and assist them during their stay in Tours and in France (opening of a bank account, administrative support for the visa, buy a mobile phone etc)
- In addition to the classrooms, the school offers a video room, a library, a language lab, a computer room, with free access to the Internet and a students kitchen (with a fridge, a microwave, a kettle, dishes) where the students can warm up their meal, prepare tea and coffee. The library, the video room, the computer room and the students kitchen are in free access.

Intensive General French Programme
We have three options at disposal : from 10 to 20 hours per week. One hour of lesson = 60 minutes.
For a 10-hour-week: 160 Euros
For a 15-hour-week: 220 Euros
For a 20-hour-week: 280 Euros
Timetable for a 10-hour-week: Monday-Friday : 9:00 to 11:00
Timetable for a 15-hour-week: Monday-Friday : 9:00 to 11:00 and 11:15 to 12:15
Timetable for a 20-hour-week: Monday-Friday : 9:00 to 11:00, 11:15 to 12:15 and 5 hours in three afternoons.
From October to May: 8 students/class
From June to September: 10 students/class
We have 5 to 6 levels from A1 to C1. Our classes are limited to 8 students per group (up to 10 during the summer time - from June to September).
This enables us to offer you individual follow-up and to increase inter-active participation. Classes are organised according to the results of level tests which assess your written and oral comprehension and expression competencies.
The teaching methods used at Tours Langues combine theory (Grammar, vocabulary, Language structures) and practice (role games, conversation in real life situation…)

The days and times of the lessons are fixed according to your availability and the teacher’s agreement.
Training Course for Teachers
This course is specially meant for primary and secondary school teachers of French who wish to refresh their spoken French and gain a better knowledge and understanding of modern France. Excursions and social activities are part of the programme, which follows the ComeniusEuropean Syllabus.
Language and Internship programme
In the following trades: Pâtissier/chocolatier, baker, catering (French cooking) and beautician.There are two programmes available:
- 1 year: learn French, technique and internship.
- 2 months: learn French and technique (experience placement unpaid). This allows the students to acquire a real professional experience in France and increase their competence in French.

Test centre for the TEF and the TCF
The TEF and the TCF are intended to assess the level of French of people whose mother tongue is not French. These tests evaluate comprehension and expression skills in French. They offer a quantitative and qualitative appreciation of the linguistic and communication skills of the candidates. They offer a detailed and individualised analysis.
The TEF and the TCF allow you to :
- Analyse your strengths and weaknesses
- Be aware of what to improve
- Get a certificate which is internationally recognized
- Enter professional life or find a first working experience in a French-speaking company
- Justify your competencies acquired
- Locate your qualification level compared to that required in your activity field
- Increase your chances in professional field (recruitment, promotion, mobility)

On request, we arrange for you the pick-up service from Charles de Gaulle to Tours.
From Charles de Gaulle Airport, there is a TGV direct to Saint Pierre des Corps (The TGV train station to Tours - 5 minutes) or to Tours.
If you want to stay in a host family, the family will pick you up for free at the train station of Tours or Saint Pierre des Corps.
If you want to stay in a hotel or in a studio, a staff of the school will pick you up at the train station of Tours or Saint Pierre des Corps and will accompany you to your accomodation.

J'aimerais bien partage sur cet site mon experience très positive à Tours Longues.
J'ai fait 2 cours de français là-bàs, l'un il y a presque 4 années comme debutante. Cette année je suis rentrée pour bien maitriser la longue et c'est grace a TOURS LONGUES que j'ai reussi à developper une carriere professionelle en français, en France ou j'habite maintenant. Je vous recommende à tous cette ecole pour bien apprendre la longue et la culture française.
L'ambiance de l'ecole est très conviviale, ils organissent plein d'activités pour faciliter la connaissance et l'integration.
D'ailleurs les methods d'apprentisage sont très adaptés et les professeurs très professionels et proches aux éleves.
En plus, l'ecole est située dans le coeur de la ville, au vieux Tours et c'est un bon point de départ pour parcourrir la région connue surtôut pour le savoir vivre " l'art de vivre" et où se parle le meilleur français.
C'est un bon choix et une très belle expérience étudier à TOURS LONGUES!

Tours Langues – Eine sehr familiäre Sprachschule in der ich die Liebe zur Französischen Sprache entdeckt habe. Ich kam ohne jede Französischkenntnisse nach Tours und schon nach wenigen Wochen fand ich mich beinahe akzentfrei in meiner neue Sprache so gut zurecht, dass ich beinahe alle Situationen des Alltags erledigte.
Die Lehrer bei Tours Langues bemühen sich, dass der Schüler auf spielerische Art sein Sprachniveau stark verbessert. Oft merkt man das erst, wenn man schon wieder etwas Neues gelernt hat.
Die Unterbringung in den Familien ist sehr zu empfehlen denn man wird von deren Freunde und Verwandten auch sehr nett aufgenommen und lernt so die kulturellen Besonderheiten des „Pays e la Loire“ kennen. Nach der Rückkehr in die Heimat denkt man an seine neuen Freunde und sehnt sich wieder französisch zu sprechen. Ich war schon dreimal dort und ich werde es wohl auch noch ein weiteres Mal tun.
Viel Spass beim Französischlernen bei Tours Langues.
Tours Langues – A very familiar Language school where I started loving these wonderful Language – French. I arrived in Tours without any knowledge but after a few weeks I could speak almost without any accent in “my new language” and handled everything.
The Teachers at TL are very anxious and Students learn in a pleasant Way and improve almost effortless. Sometimes you realize later, when you use already new language phrases, that you improved.
Accommodation at local families is recommended, because even their friends and relatives are interested and affiliate you as a new Friend. So you find out easily regional and cultural distinctions of the Loire Valley. After your return to your Country you think very often about your new friends and you yearn for speaking French..
I was already three times at TL and I most probably reregister again.

Tours Langues – Est un école très familière ou j’ai commencé mes études de français. J’arrivais à Tours sans aucune connaissance du français mais après quelques semaines je déjà pouvais « dire » presque tout dans mon jour ordinaire.
Les professeurs à TL s’affaire auprès des étudiantes et on apprend la langue facilement sans beaucoup des efforts.
A vivre chez une famille est vraiment recommandable parce que la famille et leurs amies t’accueillent comme un ami. Ainsi il est facile de profiter de la culture française et spécifié de la région Loire. Après Je suis revenu en Autriche, J’ai beaucoup pensé de mes nouvelles amies et j’ai eu envie à parler français. Depuis cela j’étais déjà trois fois à Tours Langues et je veux reviendrai encore.
A bientôt, peut être à TL.

J'ai etudie le francais a Tours Langue.
grace a cet ecole j'ai reussi de vivre en France sans difficulte.Et je suis devenue une vraie Tourangelle :)
Les professeurs pationne les eleves et donnent beaucoup de motivation pour apprendre.
J'ai vraiment aime travailler dans cette ecole!! Je la recommande et je garderai un merveilleu souvenir des moments passe a tours

I spent a month of half-time lessons (9am-noon) at Tours Langues in 2008, and enjoyed the experience a great deal. The classes were small (fluctuating between three and seven students), which meant that the teacher could focus on the needs of each student. (It also meant that there was no escape if you hadn't done your homework, but that's another story...) The teacher was terrific, and had a real sensitivity to the level of proficiency of each student. One of the nice things was the excursions to chateaux every week, which was very enjoyable. Tours is a terrific city, and the school is located right in the historic centre. Highly recommended.

J'ai étudié à Tours Langues pendant 6 mois, quand j'ai commencé, je ne savais rien de la langue française et grâce à la qualité de l'enseignement des professeurs je suis arrivé à avoir un niveau convenable qui me permet de communiquer sans aucun problème.
J'ai été aussi content de l'ambiance dans laquelle les cours se déroulaient et satisfait de l'accueil de l'équipe qui a fait de notre séjour dans l'école, un séjour très agréable et dans la bonne humeur.
Vous serez satisfaits car cette ville est une ville étudiante et l'école se situe dans le centre, idéal pour profiter de la bonne ambiance de Tours.
