The school was founded in 1992. We offer Spanish language immersion courses and private tuition, lodgings of different kinds and excursions, assuring individual service in a friendly atmosphere.
We are a medium-sized Spanish language school with about 600 students per year. All of our teachers are native Spanish speakers with university degrees, and they are specialised in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Our aim is to create a lively and stimulating relationship between teachers and students. This atmosphere of warmth and sharing ensures rapid progress in a short time.
The school has 9 comfortable classrooms all with windows assuring daylight and good ventilation. Our quiet backyard is ideal for studying, smoking, sitting in the sun or enjoying a coffee. We have a nice cyber café with free internet access for our students and Wifi in the whole building. A small library is offering books and films for lend. A

The Spanish Courses at our school in Santiago/Chile at a glance
We offer four types of Spanisch courses
Spanish Group Courses: starting each Monday with max. 7 students per level (media 4) morning and afternoon schedule
Spanish classes One on One: Private Spanish instruction generally in the afternoon schedule
Spanish classes Two on One: Semi-individual, two students-one teacher
Special Spanish Course Modules: can be taken standing alone as 2 on 1 or 1 on 1 tuition or combined with a group course
We offer DELE exam preparation as private class modules or extensive (twice a week) long term group courses.
Students can get University credits paing the certificate for their spanish course issued by the Universidad Bolivariana
Our students come mainly from Brasil, Germany and the english speaking countries (US,Canadá,United Kingdom, Australia , New Zealand). The average age is 25 years. Our average class size is 4 students mith a maximum of 7

We offer carefully selected accommodation of many different kinds for the time you are taking a course and also absolutely independent form the booking of a course.
We classify lodgings in private households (shared apartment and Family homestay), Hotels and furnished apartments/studios.
Studio we call independently accessable one room apartments where sleeping and cooking area are in the same room.
Generally in Chile and in all lodging options especially those in private households like options Family-Homestays and Shared Apartments, it is not permitted to have overnight guests. Except you announce them and pay additionally for these. Also it is expected in private lodgings that you respect the rules of the house. Those who like to be more independent should select rather Hotel and furnished apartment/studio options than those in private households.

During my 2010 vacations I've decided to spend 2 (GREAT) weeks learning Spanish at Tandem Santiago. And my only regret was not been able to stay there longer. Easy location, great staff and teaching method and a wonderful opportunity to get to know people from all-around-the-world. Definitely, a valuable experience!

Tandem Santiago is an excellent school for foreigners with all levels of Spanish. I felt very welcomed and at home right away. All classes are in Spanish from the start and you get a workbook with plenty of opportunities to study at home. The teachers challenge you in both oral and written Spanish, and I experienced a lot of progress in the two weeks I was there. Their plentiful and diverse social program is what separates them from the other schools I’ve tried, it’s easy to meet new friends and get to know more of the city and the Chilean culture. I’m definitely going back on my next trip.

I liked Tandem a lot, as I had a great time there. People are friendly and it is like you were part of a family. Thursday night we could always meet up with local people in order to talk english and spanish. The school focus was mostly on oral exercises, which suited me.

Bueno, el idioma español para mi es fantástico, la cultura hispana, las canciones, la comida, todo me encanta! Soy enamorada por toda esta cultura!
Aprender español en Tanden Santiago fue una experiencia fantástica que yo nunca voy olvidarla. Los maestros son buenísimos, la escuela tiene una fantástica atmosfera, las personas son maravillosas... Echo de menos todos los momentos que pasé en Santiago estudiando en Tanden. Con toda seguridad, yo recomendo estudiar en Tanden!

Tandem Santiago es uns muy buena escuela de idiomas dónde se puede conocer mejor la lengua española y también la ciudad de Santiago. Los profesores y toda la equipo de la escuela están siempre listos para ayudar los alumnos en todas sus dudas. Los paseos culturales y todas las actividades realizadas en Tandem nos ayudan a conocer lel idioma y también personas de diversos países del mundo.

Great school to learn Spanish, get to know the Chilean culture and make new friends from all over the world!
I took both group and individual classes for several weeks at the school, took the DELE exam and very much enjoyed my student life at Tandem Santiago.
My teachers were all well experienced and motivated and the atmosphere was very friendly.
Also day trips on the weekends and other group activities are organised by the staff, which gave us the chance to get to know Santiago and it’s surroundings a bit further.
