This is one of those cases where everything started off well and went downhill from there. The administration doesn't have a background in education so they are not knowledgeable about the learning process. Week 3, when we had just finished learning the Arabic alphabet, we switched to a new book that was three steps above where we were. All of the sudden, those who had gotten great scores on the exams were completely lost. Myself included. The teacher said, "Hey, I'm going slowly for you." Except she wasn't going slowly and she wasn't doing anything for me or my compatriots. Talking to the administration did nothing to resolve the situation. It devolved even further the next week when three more advanced students joined the class. The teacher began racing through the material in order to suit their needs, ignoring the level of the original students. I feel like I wasted my money the last two weeks. I did learn, but the learning stopped when the teacher became worried about how many chapters she had to cover.

Many features of the school, like the student resident manager, the kitchen staff, and others were very good at their jobs. They represent Qalam better than the administration does because they truly serve the students.

I absolutely loved the school. Management is excellent and school is extremely well-run in general. Classes are fun but I also learned a lot in 5 weeks. I have been to other language schools in Egypt, and I can honestly say that no where else compares with Qalam Wa Lawh in the facilities, the teachers, and the friendliness of the people you meet at the school. I also really enjoyed calligraphy class with Mohammed. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to enjoy learning Arabic but also enjoy the culture in Morocco. Qalam Wa Lawh is second to NONE!!!

Qalam is a fantastic school. It makes taking and intensive Arabic class feel like a vacation with it's brand new facilities and friendly staff. I was extremely surprised and happy to find that the prices for Qalam center were far better than other schools I had been recommended in Morocco. You can't beat the location either. I lived in Fes for 6 months prior to Qalam and was bored out of my mind! I recommend Qalam

Qalam wa Lawh is an excellent Arabic school located in the heart of Rabat. The school offers a very friendly a lay back atmposhpere that encourages students to students to study and travel as they please. The staff is extremely friendly and the facilities are possibly the best I've seen out of any Arabic school in North Africa.
