The choice of the right type of accommodation is an important decision as students typically spend more time at home than in the classroom.
We understand that people have differing needs and interests. For this reason we offer several accommodation options enabling each student to choose the most appropriate type.
Home-stay (host family) accommodation: providing the best opportunity to get to know the Russian way of life and offering the best possible language practice. Home-stay is available with breakfast only or half board (full board on weekends).
Shared flats offer an independent lifestyle at very affordable prices. This is a popular option for young people and university students. Shared flats are self catering.
Studio apartments offer higher standards than shared flats and guarantee full privacy and independence. Studios are on request only. Our accommodation officer will help to find an appropriate apartment either in St.Petersburg or Moscow.
Hotels of all categories can be booked directly with the school. While hotel rates in Moscow are quite high year round, St. Petersburg offers good deals – particularly in the mini-hotel sector. Hotels can also be booked without course. This is not possible for other accommodation options.
All accommodation offered by the school has been inspected by a member of staff. It is our accommodation officer’s job to make sure that all our students choose the option, which fits them best.
Some students prefer to stay with friends or would like to organise their own accommodation , which is fine. In that case however, we cannot provide our courtesy arrival transfers.

I've learned Russian at Liden & Denz Language Centre St. Petersburg for four weeks, doing an internship there at the same time. What impressed me first, was the friendly and kind staff, everybody trying to orientate and help me with everything I needed. Further I was very positively impressed by the level and the enthusiasm of the teachers at the school. They were not only doing their job with great professionalism, but they were highly motivated to improve my knowledge in Russian – which inevitably do happen! The Work & Study program at Liden & Denz was the perfect opportunity for me not only to
learn intensively Russian language, but also to have fun and spend some pleasant time
with the other students and teachers at the school.

As Liden and Denz is the school that provides Russian Language Training for British Diplomats, I worked closely with the staff of Liden and Denz while posted to the British Consulate General in St Petersburg. The school has an excellent reputation with the expat community, and provides a full range of language courses from short courses to get to know the language, to teaching Russian to Ambassador's in Moscow. The staff and teachers are friendly and helpful, and the school ensure that not only do you learn Russian, but you also learn about Russia, with the many events that they arrange.

I completed a 2 weeks beginner Russian language course at Liden & Denz St Petersburg centre - March/April 2010. The efficiency of the staff, the professionalism of the teacher and methodology - the kidness of my host family made my St P. stay and learning experience extremely positive. My personnal learning abililities in Russian language is like for Dancing: I am not gifted at all, but I love it. Most of all, Liden & Denz course, gave me the appetite to learn more about the language, the people, the history and the culture of THE largest country in this world! Didier (Paris)

I did a one on one beginner level Russian course at Liden and Denz and found it to be the best language class I have ever had. I was taking another one on one class at the same time with a private tutor and did not get nearly as much out of it as I did out of the Liden and Denz class. I would highly recommend this school.

I was very satisfied with the professional level of the teachers. Also, the support staff were wonderful. They were very helpful, courteous and friendly. If I had a problem they could and did solve it. I was very surprised at the Russia methods of teaching. They are very, very different from American methods. Overall, I have really enjoyed my time at Liden & Denz. I would recommend this school to anyone who seriously want to learn Russian. Again the is outstanding. The teachers are all very professional and skilled. I hope I can continue my association with this school for many year. I am proud to say I am a student at Liden & Denz.

There are a lot of things to say about my overall impression of Liden & Denz school. Quality , hospitality, flexibility, a very through one on one program. Very skilled and qualified teachers that meet your goals and your needs. When I first came to Liden & Denz was in March of 2008 . I had never been to Russia before. I knew very little Russian and could not read the Russian alphabet, but now with the help of Liden & Denz I can read Russian very well with less then three months of intensive study, I feel I have a good foundation of Russia!! I have been to Saint Petersburg 3 times every time I have studied at Liden & Denz. I have always been amazed the quality and care that Liden & Denz puts into there students. My goal is to ultimately become fluent in Russian with the help of Liden & Denz I know this is diffidently not my last time to study at Liden & Denz, I know I will return to Russia to study here many time and time again!!

I started my studies at Liden & Denz in November 2008/ Before that I knew almost nothing about Russiam culture, life in the real Russia outside the Swedish media image, and I couldn't speak any Russian at all. Today "Piter" is like a home to me. I feel very comfortable in school, learning and making friends from all over the world. I try very hard not to think about that I have to go back to Sweden. Piter is my favourite city now, and living and studying here is an experience, not only educationally and culturally, but also an experience of personal growth.

Liden&Denz St. Petersburg is one of the best language schools I have been to. Professional teachers show you every day how to easy learn and practice the Russian language. Since St. Petersburg is also a very Eastern European city most of the people do not speak English. This means you have to learn Russian - FAST! ;) Living in a host family has its advantages too! The families are friendly, open-minded and love to show the real Russian way of life! ... Not all of the hosts are perfect but if you are willing to adapt some of their traditions and rules you will for sure have a good time. In addition, the city of St. Petersburg is amazing!! Especially in summer time when the White nights start and the whole city is not sleeping ;) I learned to speak Russian in St.Petersburg within 2 months (good level) and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to learn this *exotic* language...

After reviewing all the schools available to me to study Russian in St Petersburg I decided to choose Liden & Denz after learning of the school’s facilities, experience and reputation, and, I am happy to say, the school completely met my expectations and more.
I was slightly nervous and apprehensive about heading to Russian and felt that a school with a strong international intake of students would ease my transition and it was. The school is well furbished and equipped and has its own canteen which is a great place to meet with other students and socialize and reflect on the agonizing process of studying Russian.
At the beginning of my course, the prospect of successfully studying Russian seemed daunting and unobtainable but the classes, whilst being demanding, were engaging and supportive and ensured that I progressed rapidly. Living with a friendly host family who were more than happy to tolerate my clumsy, messy Russian has further helped my linguistic development.
In addition to the classes, the school organizes numerous cultural and social events every week, which ensure that when you first take plunge into the city you will be able to do so with other people in the same position as you. It also offers an opportunity to be fairly dependant on the school until you have enough confidence, or Russian competency, to boldly strut the streets of St Petersburg independently.
I thoroughly recommend Liden & Denz to anyone studying in St Petersburg, the city is a sumptuous slice of European culture and the school has complemented and enhanced my entire experience.
