Our French courses are designed for all nationalities and all levels of knowledge of French, creating a truly international mix of people of all ages and walks of life.
Our student population is majority European, with a good number of North and South Americans, some Australians, Eastern Europeans and a smaller number of Asian and African students. In the summer (July, August) the majority of students are between 18 and 25 years old. The rest of the year we receive a larger proportion of mature adults, from 30s up to late 70s.
Class size is limited to 6 up to a maximum of 12 per group. This limited class size allows us to adapt the course to students' needs and to encourage every student to speak French.
Your first day welcome to the school and Toulouse includes an information packet detailing upcoming events, recommendations on things to do and see in town, an optional lunch in a typical Toulousan restaurant, plus a guided walking tour of the city.
Throughout your course, several afternoons or evenings per week will find you exploring new corners of la ville rose: dancing, dining and taking in concerts and shows, swimming, hiking, cycling along the Canal du Midi; attending conferences and films in French, playing Pétanque or enjoying a riverboat cruise at sunset.
The programme includes regular visits to Toulouse features such as the Airbus aircraft assembly line and the Cité de l’Espace.
One weekend per month – more often in the summer months - we offer optional excursions to points of interest in the Toulouse region:
Carcassonne - Visit and tour of Carcassonne, an impressive walled mediaeval city boasting 3 km of ramparts, 52 towers, castle and cathedral, restored in the 19th century by the renowned architect Viollet-le-Duc.
Albi & Cordes-sur-ciel - Steeped in history, Albi is renowned for the imposing Sainte-Cécile cathedral and the Palais de la Berbie with its museum dedicated to the world-famous post-impressionist painter Toulouse-Lautrec plus the town of Cordes built high on top of an isolated knoll, a large and amazingly well preserved bastide with dozens of narrow streets to explore.
Foix castle & the prehistoric painted grottoes at Niaux: After a guided visit of the medieval château, we’ll travel to the caves of Niaux and their prehistoric paintings dating from 10,000 years ago. A rare experience!
